Police officer involved in car crash charged with drug use

Police investigation following a Pleasant Hill police supervisor’s crash in a marked police vehicle last Thursday has resulted in him being charged with drug possession. When searched, a small amount of methamphetamine was found on the officer’s person.

On Thursday, the officer’s marked police SUV left the Highway 65 bypass and careened off the road. The officer was rushed to a Des Moines hospital via air ambulance, where he was treated and released.
