Posted on August 31st, 2010 No Comments

Two students at the University of Iowa were stuck by a car on August 27. Both of the students are 19 years of age and sophomores at the University.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Governor Street and College Street around midnight when they were struck by a car driven by a 28-year-old woman. The two students were found unconscious at the scene and were rushed to the University hospital.

The male student has been released and the female student is still be treated for her injuries, but is improving, according to officials. According to Iowa Code, the students had the right-of-way and were crossing the street legally.

Pedestrian accidents can cause serious injury for all involved, our thoughts are with the friends and family of both victims.
