Automaker giant Chrysler to recall more than 660,000 vehicles for safety issues
In addition to the 1.56 million vehicles that were agreed to be recalled by Chrysler at the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), another 666,735 vehicles affected by electrical problems will be recalled by Chrysler.
In the recent recall, 442,481 vehicles are affected by a faulty micro-controller device that is supposed to minimize whiplash injuries during rear crash accidents. Some 224,254 caravans and minivans were also affected by an electrical polarity problem that may cause side airbags to deploy on the wrong side in the event of side crash.
Chrysler dealers will fix the problems in these vehicles for free in August.
