BMW vehicles with potential brake malfunction recalled

German automaker BMW is voluntarily recalling at least 76,200 vehicles that are affected by an issue that may cause brakes to work improperly, a report from USA Today stated on Tuesday, October 1.

According to BMW, the power brakes of the affected vehicles, which have 2-liter, four-cylinder gas engines, may malfunction if the oil supply is intercepted. The recall affects Series sedans 1, 3, and 5, X1 and X3 SUVs, and the Z4 sports cars. The affected vehicles may still stop without the power brake, but extra pressure will need to be applied on the brake pedal.

Owners of the affected BMW’s are advised to have their vehicles towed.
