Motorcyclist killed in Des Moines vehicular crash
A motorcycle rider was recently killed after he became involved in an accident in the Des Moines area, an article of WHO-TV reported on April 14.
According to reports, Des Moines authorities received alerts of an accident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle that occurred in the 4100 Block of Broadway Avenue. The motorcyclist was thrown off his bike after he struck the back portion of the vehicle. A deputy from Polk County, who first responded at around 5:50 p.m., attempted to resuscitate the motorcyclist from Altoona before he was transported to the hospital. The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries moments later while in the hospital. The female vehicle driver involved in the crash was later cited for failing to yield, as she was pulling out from a driveway in the area and failed to see the motorcycle.
Des Moines authorities believed that the motorcycle accident was not caused by excessive speed or intoxicated driving.
