Woman pleads guilty in drunk driving case
A woman has plead guilty to a drunk driving charge after the death of an East Moline mother.
The 44-year-old woman was in tears as she admitted in front of a jury that she was driving intoxicated when she crossed the center line of U.S. 67. After crossing the center, she struck a car and killed a 39-year-old woman inside. She plead guilty to homicide by vehicle operating while intoxicated.
The mother who was killed had a 21-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter, who is now living with an aunt. The woman plead guilty because she knew it was the right thing to do, sources close to her say that she feels horrible about what happened.
Drunk driving accidents not only put the driver in danger, but everyone else on the road. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim.
