ISU student killed in pedestrian accident
A student from Iowa State University was killed after being involved in a pedestrian accident near Jack Trice Stadium after the football game on Saturday.
The 21-year-old junior was walking across South 16th Street around 10 p.m. when he was hit by a 22-year-old student driving westbound down the roadway. The pedestrian was on his way back to his car after the game.
Officials have said that speeding and alcohol were not factors in the crash, but it happened so quickly that the driver did not have time to react.
Pedestrian accidents can cause serious injury to all involved, our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim.
