Mayor of small Iowa town killed in accident
The mayor of a small Iowa town was killed in a car accident near the Minnesota border last week.
The 79-year-old mayor of St. Ansgar was driving on Highway 9 when his car was struck by a semi-tractor trailer.
Icy roads and conditions were reported in many areas of Iowa, but it is unknown if this was the cause of the accident. The mayor’s wife was also injured in the accident and transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. This was the mayor’s second term of the 1,000 person town.
Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim in the crash.
