U.S Postal Service worker injured after struck by van

A letter carrier working for the U.S. Postal Service was struck by a mini van near Davenport.

The 52-year-old man was transported to the University Hospitals in Iowa City by helicopter with life threatening injuries after the accident.

The accident occurred around 12:23 p.m. on West 3rd Street as the man walked across the street to deliver the mail in his mail route. The crash is still currently under investigation by the Davenport Police Unit.

Pedestrian car accidents can happen quickly when a driver is not paying attention to the road. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim in the accident.
