Man awarded $350K after Iowa bus accident
A blind man who was injured in a city bus accident three years ago has been awarded $350,000 from the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority after filing a suit that claimed that the bus did not yield to the right of way.
The accident occurred in 2008 at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Walnut Street when the bus struck the man. He then needed to be hospitalized as a result in order to be treated for his injuries.
The driver of the bus was later fired because this was her eighth car accident that occurred in the past seven years that she was on the job.
