Two injured in high-speed car accident

Two people are in critical condition after being involved in a high-speed crash in Des Moines.

According to police, an 18-year-old man was speeding away from a gas station after not paying for $50 of gas when he collided with another vehicle. The man reached a speed of 100 mph before the collision occurred.

The driver of the second car and a passenger in the 18-year-old’s car are both in critical condition at this time. A 16-year-old that was a passenger in the first car was killed as a result of the crash. The driver is being held in the county jail.
