Man killed in high speed police chase

Jonathan Bindel, 18, of Jefferson, was killed on Tuesday night after crashing into a police pickup truck in a high-speed chase in West Central Iowa.

Police began chasing Bindel’s car on the westbound Highway 30 after he was found to be speeding and driving erratically. The chase ended with Bindel crashing into an eastbound police pickup truck driven by Officer Heath Enns. Enns was not injured.

Miranda Parris, 20, of Jefferson, rode in the passenger’s seat of Bindel’s car, and was sent to Greene County Medical Center for injuries.
