Iowa college student dies in car accident
A student at Iowa State University was killed on Sunday night in Minnesota.
The 21-year-old college hockey player was driving in St. Paul on highway I-94 and decided to switch lanes. While switching lanes, he merged into a car who ultimately lost control and swerved. The hockey player got out of his vehicle after the car accident and went over to help the driver of the car he hit.
While he was outside of his car aiding the driver, a 62-year-old man operating a mini van crashed into the student as well as the other vehicle. The 21-year-old was instantly killed at the scene and the other driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends during this tragic time.
