444K Mazda vehicles with faulty airbags recalled in the US
Mazda Motor Corp. in North America recently issued a recall to an estimated 444,907 vehicles that have potentially hazardous airbags, Motrolix reported on June 11.
According to reports, the recall affects several models of Mazda vehicles that were manufactured since 2002. The recall explained that the dual-stage airbag installed in front of the drivers’ side may burst during deployment, releasing metal pieces that can injure occupants. The Japanese automaker is expected to notify owners of the recalled vehicles for the free airbag replacement in the drivers’ seat. Owners of recalled vehicles are also advised to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for more information.
