Pedestrian in motorized wheelchair struck by SUV in Sioux City

A man recently suffered head injuries after he was struck by an SUV while he was crossing the street in his motorized wheelchair, Sioux City Journal reported on Oct. 15.

Information coming from a Sioux City police reported that at around 5:15 p.m. an elderly man in a motorized wheelchair was crossing the intersection of Pierce Street and 14th Street when he was hit by an SUV. The officer believed that the head injury sustained by the unidentified elderly was non life-threatening. The driver of the SUV was issued a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
