Ducati motorcycles that may suddenly stall recalled
Thousands of motorcycles manufactured by Ducati are covered by a recall in the U.S. due to an issue that could cause the motorcycle to stall while in use, an October 7 article of Motorcycle.com stated.
According to reports, at least 1,433 new models of “XDiavel” motorcycles have a retaining nut in the final drive pulley that is not properly installed. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration learned the problem could result in power loss in the motorcycle’s rear wheel. Ducati and the NHTSA were informed of 13 complaints in July and in August before issuing the recall. Ducati will address the problem by replacing the nuts and installing them with proper tightness.
When motorcycles malfunction during operation, riders are at high risk of sustaining injuries that could leave them permanently disabled.
