One Dead and Four Wounded in Des Moines Car Accident

An 11 year old died while four others were hurt in a car accident in Des Moines, Iowa earlier this month.

Iowa State Patrol Authorities identified the deceased as Jacquelle McDonald of Chicago. The report showed McDonald was not wearing a seatbelt when the vehicle’s driver lost control and hit the median after the vehicle rolled several times. The four other passengers in the vehicle, two of whom were children, suffered minor injuries.

Traffic authorities reduced the traffic down to a few lanes and detoured traffic away from the accident as rescue teams secured the crash site.

Rollover accident in Glenwood kills 1, injures 3

On Wednesday, a fatal rollover accident occurred near Glenwood, Iowa.  The accident happened just before 12 p.m. yesterday on Ellington Avenue.

Iowa State Patrol reports state that the driver of a Jeep lost control of his vehicle on Ellington Avenue which continued off of the road, flipping and landing in a nearby ditch.  The Jeep was traveling westbound on the road which residents of the area refer to as “roller coaster hill.”

Three passengers in the Jeep were ejected from the vehicle in the accident.  One of the passengers was killed and the two others were taken to Creighton University Medical Center where they were listed as being in critical condition.  The driver of the vehicle was taken to the same hospital and listed as being in serious condition.

Waterloo rollover accident injures one

A Waterloo man was injured after a rollover car accident occurred Sunday.

The accident occurred just around 2 p.m. when the 27-year-old man was traveling down Donald Street at what officials think was an “excessive speed” and he lost control of the car. The vehicle hit a ditch which caused it to flip and roll several times.

The man was thrown from the vehicle as a result of the crash and was transported to Allen Hospital to be treated for his injuries. The details of the accident are under investigation at this time.

Three children injured in Iowa rollover accident

Three children were injured in a single-car rollover accident in Floyd County on June 21 and the driver has now been charged with operating while intoxicated.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation crime lab has been investigating the evidence from that night and charged the 34-year-old driver as a result of this.

The man was driving his pickup truck when he lost control and entered a ditch and he flipped and rolled once. Him and three children were transported to the hospital as a result of the accident, but all of the injuries were said to be non-life threatening. The man was also charged with three counts of child endangerment.

A teenager from Clear Lake was injured in a rollover accident that occurred on Monday.

the 16-year-old girl was driving southbound down Indigo Avenue when she lost control on a gravel road. Her car then went into a ditch where it flipped and rolled over a few  times before coming to a stop.

Luckily, she was wearing her seat belt in the accident and escaped any life threatening injury. She was transported to the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa to be treated.

Adverse weather may be reason for rollover crash

According to police, a rollover accident on I-380 injured one person last week.

A 44-year-old man was driving southbound around 9 p.m. when he passed another vehicle traveling in the same direction. The man then tried to get in front of the vehicle, but he did not have enough room and he clipped the bumper of the car.

Woman killed in rollover accident in Floyd County

A woman was killed in a one-car rollover accident in Floyd County.

According to authorities, the 20-year-old woman was the passenger in a pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old male. The accident occurred as the 19-year-old backed the truck out of a drive way at a high speed and lost control of the vehicle causing the pickup truck to hit a ditch and roll.

The female was pronounced dead at the scene and the male was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries, but there has been no word on his condition.

A man was arrested in a rollover accident in Sioux City, Iowa.

The accident occurred around 11 p.m. when the car somehow lost control, rolled and landed in a ravine. A neighbor called the police after seeing the wreckage of the accident.
