Mount Vernon native and rapper DMX was charged with driving under the influence on July 25, the South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed in a report on Tuesday, July 30.
According to reports, the rapper whose real name is Earl Simmons, was pulled over by highway patrol after he was seen driving “erratically” around 11 p.m. DMX failed a field sobriety test given to him after being pulled over and was brought to Greenville Detention Center. Aside from the DUI charge, DMX was also cited for driving without a license and not wearing a seat belt.
Simmons was released immediately after his arrest the following day, according to his publicist Domenick Nati.
