Iowa motorcyclist killed in Arkansas

A motorcyclist from Iowa was recently killed in an Arkansas crash. According to the Arkansas State Police, the fatal accident occurred on Sunday, October 27 on U.S. 65 south of Ozark Mountain, Marshall.

35 year-old motorcyclist, Ryan Gendreau of Sabula, Iowa, was hit by a vehicle driven by 30 year-old, Nicole Matz. Matz was crossing the highway at the time of the accident. Police reports reveal that Gendreau died at the scene.

Weekend accidents claim the lives of 6 people

Over the weekend throughout the state of Iowa, six people lost theirĀ  lives in various car and motorcycle accidents.

Four individuals on three separate motorcycles were killed when they either lost control of their bike or were struck by a motor vehicle. Two other Iowa residents died after the motor vehicles they were operating crashed on different Iowa roads.

Mason City motorcycle accident leaves one injured

A man was injured after a motorcycle accident that occurred in Mason City on Tuesday.

According to police, the accident occurred as an 81-year-old driver was attempting a left turn into a church for a funeral when he struck a 17-year-old motorcyclist who was traveling west.

The motorcyclist struck the first car and then was hit by another. The drivers in the car were not injured, but the motorcyclist was taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in order to be treated.

Collision with pickup kills Iowa motorcyclist

One person was killed in a motorcycle accident involving a pickup truck 50 miles north of Lusk.

The driver of a pickup pulling a 28-foot camper trailer was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 85. A 46-year-old motorcyclist from Pleasant Hill, Iowa made a move to pass the pickup on the left at the same time that the driver of the truck was making a left turn.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist tried to avoid the collision by hitting the brakes and steering left. However, the motorcycle hit the camper near the front axles and the driver was thrown off the bike and became tangled under the trailer.

The motorcyclist died about an hour and a half after the crash. He was not wearing a helmet. The truck driver and his three passengers were not injured.

Siouxland man injured in motorcycle accident

A man from Siouxland was injured after motorcycle accident occurred near Peterson, Iowa.

According to Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred on Highway 10 at the intersection of 155th Avenue when the motorcycle driver struck a deer that was in the middle of the road.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, he was taken to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center to be treated. His condition at this time is unknown.

Motorcycle and deer accident causes serious injury

A woman is in critical condition after being involved in a motorcycle accident that occurred after the motorcycle she was riding on collided with a deer on Scott Park Road.

After the collision, the impact caused the woman to the ejected from the vehicle. The 27-year-old woman was transported to the University Hospital in Iowa City to be treated for head injuries suffered.

The woman’s 28-year-old husband was also injured in the accident. Neither speed nor alcohol were said to be factors in the crash.

A motorcycle accident in Parkersburg killed one man and injured another.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred around 7 p.m. whe the motorcyclist collided with a van at the intersection of Highway 14-57 and Top Air Road. The van was attempting a left turn in front of the motorcycle when they collided.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital to be treated, but he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the van was injured, but was not considered to be in serious condition. The accident remains under investigation at this time.

One man in hospital after Iowa City motorcycle accident

A man was taken to the hospital after being involved in a motorcycle accident in Iowa City last week.

The accident occurred Highway 218, near Melrose Avenue around 4 p.m. The man was traveling southbound down the roadway when he lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons and crashed into the grassy median in between the lanes of traffic.

The man was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to be treated for injuries sustained. All injuries were said to be non-life threatening.

Man injured in motorcycle near Miles, Iowa

A 29-year-old man from Sabula was injured in a motorcycle just outside Miles.

According to authorities, the man was traveling east on his motorcycle in Interstate 64 when he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons. The motorcycle went off the side of the road so the man tried to steer it back on the road and he over corrected causing the motorcycle to fall to its side.

The man was thrown from the motorcycle after it fell. He was then transported to the local hospital before being airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals. The accident remains under investigation and the current condition of the man has not been reported.

Two injured in Iowa motorcycle accident

Two people were killed in motorcycle accident in Marcus, Iowa. The accident occurred when a 31-year-old driver of a motorcycle collided with an 18-year-old pedestrian.

Both of the people involved in the accident were injured and transported to the hospital via ambulance when emergency crews arrived. The accident occurred around 10 p.m., according to the Sheriff’s department. The current condition of the victims is unknown at this point and the accident is still being investigated.
