A 58-year-old man was killed from injuries sustained in a semi-truck accident on Interstate 35 in Polk County.
According to Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred just north of Des Moines at 11:30 p.m. when the man was driving the truck, lost control and veered off the side of the road.
The vehicle then came to a stop after hitting wire safety guard on the side of the road. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. Further details on the accident are under investigation at this time.
