Pedestrian accident at Des Moines intersection kills one

A walking woman was killed on September 15 after being struck by a vehicle in Des Moines, KCCI-TV reported.

Des Moines Police reportedly found the body of 49-year-old Margit Browman lying on the street at the intersection of Southeast 5th and Army Post Road before 6:00 a.m. Initial investigation revealed that Browman was struck by a vehicle after the traffic light suddenly changed. The vehicle driver that struck Browman, identified as Bobby Mosely, remained at the crash site and assisted authorities in their investigations. Police are studying the video footage recorded in the intersection camera in order to fully understand the pedestrian accident. It was suspected that the dark lighting of the early morning and the wet roads contributed to Mosely’s inability to see Browman in time.
